This is a selection of my sketches based on images from 19th century books. This set of images shows the development of the dress and the different styles that came in and out of fashion in the 19th century.

The Regency period-This is where my first  dress comes from a time of empire waistlines and long skirts. The main change in the regency period was the length of sleeves they went from cap sleeves to wrist length. The length of skirt also changed slightly from floor length to ankel length
The Victorian period changed quite a bit over the years from the frilly
bell like shape skirt and big sleeves to the straight jacket and polonaise skirt.
